Kendra wrote her first play in grade 2 on the monkeybars, and can still recite it by heart. Then for a few decades after that, she kept being in plays, writing plays, directing plays, designing for plays, and generally having a fun time playing! In 2005, she created The Only Animal, a theatre company that makes shows that happens in cool places, like deep in the forest, or high on mountains, out of sand, or snow and ice or inside comic books. Kendra loves Nature and lives on the Sunshine Coast and has a big garden and knows where some kinds of wild mushrooms grow. For a year she carried a typewriter on her back when she went hiking and tried to translate the voice of the wilderness. That was good practice listening. Sometimes that is her job. The best, hardest, most fun, weirdest, most tiring, neatest thing Kendra does is be Mama to two kids, Larkin and Kali.
